PWF COVID Action Plan
We recognize how important participation in the PWF Saturday program is to our large extended family. It was not an easy decision to cancel classes in back in March but we feel it was absolutely the right decision. The safety of our students, staff and the broader community is our primary concern.
In light of the ongoing COVID crises we are making the following changes to the way the Saturday program will be run during the upcoming 2020 - 2021 season.
We will accept full enrollment for the season but , in order to keep the number of people on site to a safe limit, we will split the class into two groups. The groups will alternate their attendance each week. Students who’s names do not appear on that week’s sign-in sheet will not be allowed to participate.
All students, parents, coaching staff are required to wear mask at all times with no exceptions.
We are purchasing all new fencing masks for the upcoming season and implement a more intense cleaning protocol for all shared equipment like masks, gloves, jackets, and weapons.
Although we are taking every precaution possible, we cannot guarantee a 100% COVID free environment. As such, each person physically attending classes will be asked to sign an additional waiver confirming that they understand the risk of participating in a group activity such as ours will not hold the PWF liable should anyone become infected with COVID and the source of the transmission is definitively determined to be the Fencers Club/Peter Westbrook Foundation.
